Job summary

Shannex is seeking a Personal Support Worker to join the Parkland on the Glen team in Mississauga. You will assist residents with daily living activities, hygiene, and mobility, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.

The role emphasizes compassionate, professional, and safe care, with opportunities for ongoing education and training through Shannex Centre of Excellence and access to a perks program.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Personal Care Worker course or equivalent.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must provide a clear police check with vulnerable sector screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with hygiene and daily living activities.
• Collaborate on individualized Resident Care Plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with planning and implementing resident leisure activities daily.
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks.
• Follow delegated nursing acts per policy and scope of practice.
• Report information regarding resident care or safety.

About The Opportunity

• Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment
• Collaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan
• Assists in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities daily
• Assists with light housekeeping duties
• Performs delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice
• Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident care or safety

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

• You have a valid Personal Care Worker course or equivalent
• You can work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• You can provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening
• Alzheimer's and Dementia Care course considered an asset
• Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset
• Valid CPR & First Aid Certification preferred
