Job summary

Shannex Incorporated in Fredericton, New Brunswick, is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Continuing Care Assistant (PSW) for Parkland Fredericton - Thomas Hall. You will assist residents with daily living activities and collaborate with the care team.

The role requires a PSW diploma, flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, and a clear vulnerable-sector check. CPR and First Aid are required; English is essential with French a plus.

Qualifications

• PSW diploma or provincial PSW course or equivalent.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Clear vulnerable sector screening required upon hire.
• CPR & First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with hygiene and daily living activities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop Resident Care Plans.
• Assist with resident leisure activities and light housekeeping.
• Report care or safety information to Supervisor.

We are searching for a Permanent Part-Time Continuing Care Assistant (PSW) (0.5 FTE) to join our Parkland Fredericton - Thomas Hall team based in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

About The Opportunity

• Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as: bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment;
• Collaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan;
• Assists in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis;
• Assists with light housekeeping duties;
• Performs delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice;
• Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident care or safety to Supervisor

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

• A valid Personal Support Worker Acute Care diploma or Provincial Personal Care Worker course or equivalent;
• Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays;
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire;
• Valid CPR & First Aid Certification or BLS (required);
• Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset;
• Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care course considered an asset;
• Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset;
• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
