Job summary

Near North District School Board is seeking a Grade 7/8 Classroom Teacher for a permanent position commencing in the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will hold a valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate and Certification of Registration, with Intermediate Qualifications; Special Education Qualifications are an asset.

Experience supporting diverse learners and leading literacy and numeracy initiatives will be valued within a whole-school context.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Ministry Curriculum and Assessment documents
• Experience with Apple-based software and mobile devices (iPad/MacBook/iMac)
• Understanding of diverse learners with a focus on at-risk students
• Support for literacy and numeracy from a whole-school perspective
• Integration of technology for documenting and evaluating student work
• Ability to work as part of a school team and communicate effectively
• Ability to utilize EDSBY to support student learning and guardian communication

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with grade-level teams to implement curriculum and assessments
• Leverage technology to document and evaluate student progress
• Support diverse learners and at-risk students with targeted strategies
• Lead literacy and numeracy initiatives at the school level
• Communicate with guardians and use EDSBY for updates and feedback
