Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto seeks a registered nurse to provide primary care for post-operative patients in phase 2 recovery. You will assess, intervene, educate and advocate for patients within a multidisciplinary team, following College of Nurses of Ontario standards and Sunnybrook's care model.

Role requires current CNO registration, BCLS, and acute care experience; ACLS preferred. Venipuncture/IV certification is required.

Qualifications

• Current Registration with College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Significant recent related post-surgical care experience.
• Ability to apply critical thinking to patient care.
• Ability to handle stressful environments positively.
• Strong patient assessment skills.
• Ability to adapt to multi-focused, fast-changing settings.
• Effective communication: oral and written, teamwork and problem solving.
• Independent and multi-disciplinary team participation.
• Infection prevention and control knowledge.
• Commitment to continuing education (past 2 years).
• Commitment to organizational initiatives and quality improvement.
• Current Ontario Registration; BCLS; ACLS preferred.
• Oncology experience preferred; Venipuncture and IV certification.
• Commitment to person-centre care principles.
