Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Ontario seeks an experienced Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current surgical experience for pre-operative and post-operative assessment and discharge planning. You will perform physical and psychological assessments, instruct patients undergoing various surgeries, and support mobility and transfers in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Current Ontario College of Nurses Registration required.
• Diploma in RPN mandatory.
• Current BCLS certification required.
• Minimum 1–2 years recent surgical experience required.
• Completion of Physical Assessment course.
• Venipuncture and IV certification with phlebotomy skills.
• Medication Administration course completed.
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization under stress.
• Excellent computer skills and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of General and Regional Anaesthetics with patient-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Assess and prepare patients undergoing various surgeries in pre- and post-operative phases.
