Westland Insurance Group Ltd. in Surrey, BC, is seeking a People & Performance Advisor to support the Insurance Operations client group and corporate portfolio. This hybrid role collaborates with leaders on day-to-day people matters, annual programs, and business initiatives.

You will partner with the People Relations team, drive HR projects, and use data and trends to inform decisions. The role offers a competitive compensation range and development opportunities, with a commitment to learning

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with managers and employees to support engagement.

• Coach managers on change, attendance and performance issues.
• Support annual HR programs, talent, engagement and workforce planning cycles.
• Lead HRBP initiatives through research, coordination and implementation support.

Westland Insurance Group Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a People & Performance Advisor. This is a hybrid role based out of our Head Office in Surrey, BC.

Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $66,400 to $83,000 based on a 35-hour work week. Actual offered salary will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as market conditions for the role, and internal equity.

This is a new role within the People & Performance team, offering a unique opportunity to make it your own and help shape what success looks like. As a People & Performance Advisor, you'll provide dedicated support to your own client group within Insurance Operations, while also supporting work across the corporate client team portfolio, partnering partner with leaders on day-to-day people matters, annual people programs, and business initiatives.

In addition to day-to-day client support, you'll contribute to corporate People & Performance projects and initiatives, giving you exposure to a variety of priorities and opportunities to make an impact across the organization.

Why we’ll love You:

• Solid communications skills with a natural ability to build authentic and trusting relationships

• Strong knowledge of provincial employment standards and employment law
• At least two years’ experience in a similar HR advisor role, with exposure to client group support, annual HR programs, and project work
• Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline and working toward CPHR/CHRP
• Bonus: Retail, hospitality, or insurance industry experience

Once here, you'll:

• Establish and maintain trusting relationships with managers and employees to support employee engagement and retention
• Provide dedicated People & Performance support to a small client group while also supporting priorities across the corporate client group
• Coach and advise managers to address people management challenges such as change initiatives, attendance and performance issues
• Support annual People & Performance programs, including activities such as performance, talent, engagement, compensation, and workforce planning cycles
• Support People & Performance projects and HRBP team initiatives through, including project research, coordination, planning, and implementation support
• Assess risk and alternative solutions to employment issues in consideration of applicable legislation and common law
• Partner with the People Relations team to resolve employee relations concerns effectively
• Support acquisition growth through successful onboarding and collaboration with newly acquired businesses
• Research best practices, compliance requirements, and employment trends to support practical recommendations for leaders and People & Performance initiatives
• Use HR data and metrics to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and make informed recommendations
