Job summary

Save-On-Foods is seeking an Operations Manager for our Western Canada location. This full-time role focuses on leading the store team, coaching, and ensuring customer-first service while upholding health and safety standards.

The position requires 2–3 years of leadership experience, Food Safe Certification, and a business-related degree (asset). You will support the Assistant Store Manager with operational excellence, recruitment, budgeting, and profitability initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience leading a team and supporting store operations.
• Food Safe Certification.
• Post-secondary education in a business-related field is an asset.
• Experience in the Fresh department or retail environment is an asset.
• Experience with achieving sales targets and profitability; financial planning and budgeting.
• Scheduling and human resources knowledge (recruitment, onboarding, coaching).

Responsibilities

• Leading the store team, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.
• Supporting the Assistant Store Manager execute and achieve operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, merchandising, and front end operations.
• Assisting with team member related matters (e.g., recruitment, training, performance management, rewards/recognition, succession planning, administration of the collective agreement, and conflict resolution).
• Communicating key messages to the store team to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Ensuring the successful implementation of strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
• Reviewing and analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards to monitor store performance.
• Supporting inventory and stocktaking in all areas of the store.
