Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Maple Ridge is hiring an Assistant Department Manager, Produce for a 40-hour work week at our Dewdney location. You will coach a team, ensure customer-first service, and drive performance through training and stock control. Food Safe Certification and retail experience are valued.

You will lead by example, communicate effectively, and contribute to a positive team culture while supporting store goals in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
• Food Safe Certification is required/advantageous.

We are hiring for an Assistant Department Manager, Produce at our Dewdney Save-On-Foods location in Maple Ridge, BC. The successful candidate must have open availability and be available for 40 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

• Assisting with leading a team, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource to team members.
• Fostering a positive environment that is focused on Always Customer First service.
• Engaging and retaining team members through training and development, performance management, rewards/recognition and the identification and development of future leaders.
• Communicating important messages with the team.
• Using knowledge of the community, competitive environment, and industry to develop entrepreneurial strategies to grow the business.
• Taking count of the correct amount of stock.

You have:

• Previous retail or customer service experience (considered an asset).
• Food Safe Certification.
• A passion for great food and providing outstanding customer service.
• A strong work ethic and “let’s get it done” attitude.
• Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.

Compensation Details:

$19.25 - $22.60 The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
