The Opportunity

This is an exciting time to join TVO! The People and Culture Coordinator will support daily HR activities such as onboarding, employee records management, and benefits administration.

How You Will Make An Impact
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee and retiree benefits and pension inquiries.
  • Coordinate and review employee documentation, ensuring compliance with policies, timelines, and legislation.
  • Manage processes related to new hires, rehires, promotions, terminations, and salary changes, updating HRIS accurately and promptly.
  • Administer benefit and pension plans, researching and assessing employee claims.
  • Communicate with external providers like insurance carriers and pension boards, providing data and support.
  • Prepare monthly benefit calculations and reconciliations.
  • Administer employee benefits, ensuring correct deductions and coordinating changes.
  • Track key employee milestones and lifecycle events, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up.
  • Maintain filing systems, ensuring documentation is received, completed, and filed appropriately.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries via email, mail, and voicemail.
  • Support invoice processing and payroll-related documentation, including Records of Employment and T4s.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives, contributing to process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring To TVO
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of HR or administrative experience.
  • Strong data coordination and processing skills.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, policies, and legislation.
  • Experience with HRMS systems; UKG interface experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Experience in unionized environments and with benefits/pension is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail, organization, confidentiality, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and problem-solving mindset.
