Job summary

The University of Saskatchewan is seeking a Pension Analyst to support the administration and governance of the university’s pension plans. You will deliver accurate reporting and analysis to internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with trustees, actuaries, and external partners to address needs and ensure compliance with legislation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience with pension plan administration.
  • Knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans is considered an asset.
  • Strong research, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a diverse environment and with integrated teams.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.

Description

The pension analyst supports the administration and governance of the university's pension plans by delivering accurate reporting and analysis to internal and external stakeholders. This role collaborates with trustees, actuaries, and other external partners to address stakeholder needs and comply with federal and provincial legislation. Key responsibilities include contributing to policy review, project coordination, and the maintenance of pension systems and data integrity. Applying a strong understanding of pension plan environments, the analyst performs and reviews pension calculations and provides direct support to plan members.

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience with pension plan administration, preferably in a large, diverse, unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans and applicable pension legislation is considered an asset.
  • Strong research, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
