Job summary

TASC (Treatment Alternatives for Stronger Communities) in Belleville, Ontario, is hiring a full-time Peer Support Specialist. You will draw on lived experience to support tenants, foster resilience, and promote community inclusion through coaching life skills and coordinating with behavioral health providers and local services.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience in group facilitation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in group facilitation is preferred.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals in achieving service plan goals via direct support and coordination with behavioral health providers, public agencies, and community resources.
  • Identify opportunities for clients to engage in meaningful community activities, support groups, or volunteer opportunities.
  • Coach clients in daily living skills such as budgeting, hygiene, conflict resolution, and landlord/tenant communication.
  • Provide transportation assistance or accompaniment to critical appointments and housing-related meetings.
  • Enter timely documentation of all client interactions in the Electronic Client Record and assist with monthly data collection.
