North Coast Community Services Society (NCCS) in Prince Rupert, BC is seeking a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team serving children and youth with communication challenges.

The role offers a permanent full-time position with a 35-hour work week, travel to remote communities, and a unionized wage under the BCGEU framework. Start fall 2026 or ASAP.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of an entry-to-practice speech-language pathology program.
  • Registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
  • Preference given to candidates with pediatric SLP delivery experience and supervision of a Rehabilitation or Therapy Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized intervention plans.
  • Support children and youth in achieving communication and developmental milestones.
  • Address speech production, language development, and social communication needs.
  • Promote use of assistive communication technologies and strategies.

Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (Permanent Full-Time)

Salary: $48.30-55.89/hour

Benefits: This is a unionized position with salary and benefits subject to the requirements of the BC Government Employees Union’s Collective Agreement.

Union Grid: 17-P-SLP (BCGEU-CSSEA)
Hours: 35 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 7 hours/day, flexibility to meet client needs)

This is a full-time position; however, part-time arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.

Start Date: Fall 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter

About the Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) works with children and youth experiencing communication challenges, including speech, language, and social communication delays or disorders.

Reporting to the Team Lead for Goal-Focused Services, you will:

  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized intervention plans
  • Support children and youth in achieving communication and developmental milestones
  • Address speech production, language development, and social communication needs
  • Recommend and support the use of assistive communication technologies and strategies
  • Promote successful participation in home, school, and community settings
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, schools, and community partners
  • Deliver services using culturally inclusive and trauma-informed approaches
  • Provide services across rural and remote communities, including Indigenous communities within the North Coast and Haida Gwaii region
  • Support regional service delivery, including virtual care options

Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an entry-to-practice speech-language pathology program
