Job summary

CHEO in Ottawa is seeking a registered nurse to provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients within a supportive team. The nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, ensuring family-centered and culturally sensitive practice.

The role requires a BScN, current CNO registration, CPR, and a vulnerable sector check. Pediatric experience and bilingual English/French are preferred, with opportunities for professional growth at CHEO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BScN) preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years pediatric experience or other appropriate combinations of education and experience.
• Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential).
• Current CPR Certification (Essential).
• Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills (Essential).
• Demonstrated culturally sensitive approach to nursing care (Essential).
• Demonstrated strong family centered care skills (Essential).
• Vulnerable Sector Check (Level 3) (Essential).

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses the nursing process.
• Practices according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Hospital, and the patient service unit.
• Provides appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family to promote or maintain wellness, and to achieve an optimal quality of life.
• Is accountable for maintaining competence while developing the quality of his/ her professional nursing practice.
