Job summary

AdventHealth Riverview is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a full-time day shift in Florida. You will provide high-quality nursing care, perform assessments, coordinate with the care team, and contribute to patient safety and discharge planning.

Required are an RN license in Florida, 1+ year of recent experience, and BLS; ACLS/NIHSS are preferred. Benefits begin Day One, with opportunities for professional development and growth at AdventHealth.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe practice and complies with regulatory standards
• Ensures safe handoff communications and documentation
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes
• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers
• Demonstrates teamwork to manage patient flow and bed placement
• Performs hourly rounding using the AIDET technique
• Delivers culturally competent care and adheres to organizational dress and conduct standards
• Collects patient data for assessments and process improvement
• Initiates consults and discharge planning as indicated
• Other duties as assigned

Job Description:

• Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
• Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• Participates in hourly rounding using the AIDET technique to improve patient outcomes.
• Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
• Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance. Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiate consults as indicated, and identify patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Competence with the EPIC charting system [Preferred]

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Field of Study:

• Graduate of a school of nursing
• in nursing

Work Experience:

• 1+ years of recent and relevant experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support-CPR Cert(BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS)[Required]
