Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL seeks a dedicated Float Pool RN to provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care on the night shift. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient placement, develop individualized care plans, and ensure documentation accuracy across EMR systems.

The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), RN license, CPR/BLS, ACLS, and 1+ year of recent critical care experience.

  • Preferred: previous EMR experience and EKG interpretation training.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates to promote timely patient placement following admission/discharge/transfer policies.
  • Collects comprehensive patient data for health assessment and unit process improvement.
  • Develops and prioritizes the patient care plan with patient/family and health team.
  • Implements care plans and orders accurately and timely.
  • Considers safety, cost, and impact on practice in nursing care delivery.
  • Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
  • Monitors progress toward patient outcomes and unit improvement goals.
  • Leads plan-of-care implementation with appropriate delegation.
  • Educates patients and families based on assessed learning needs.
  • Performs hourly rounding and ensures safe handoffs and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:
  • Collaborates and promotes timely patient placement by following hospital policy for patient admission, discharge, and transfer.
  • Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health/situation and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
  • Develops, individualizes, and prioritizes the patient’s plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and health team members.
  • Implements identified plans for patients and unit-specific process improvement with appropriate nursing interventions and physician orders in an accurate, timely manner.
  • Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
  • Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
  • Evaluates progress toward attainment of expected patient outcomes and unit-specific process improvement outcomes daily.
  • Coordinates implementation of the plan of care through leadership and delegation appropriate to skill level.
  • Educates patients and families based on assessed learning needs.
  • Participates in hourly rounding for outcomes.
  • Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Previous experience with electronic medical record systems [Preferred] Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]
Education:
  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:
  • 1+ recent and relevant experience [Required]
  • 2+ Critical care experience [Preferred]
