Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL seeks a Gastrointestinal APRN to diagnose, treat, and manage GI conditions in a full‑time, day‑shift setting. You will perform histories, exams, consultations, and collaborate with physicians to implement evidence‑based plans for outpatient and inpatient care.

The role requires an APRN with Florida licensure, FNP/AGNP certification, and BLS, working within a supportive team committed to patient‑centered care.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current Florida APRN license or eligibility for licensure.
• National board certification as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult‑Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP).
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations.
• Perform consultations, follow‑up visits, and routine outpatient evaluations.
• Provide inpatient GI consult support and rounding as needed.
• Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic test results.
• Develop and implement evidence‑based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and preventive care.
• Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services.
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and practice development efforts.
