MacDonald Search Group is proud to partner with our client in their search for a Payroll Supervisor to join their team based out of either the Vancouver or Edmonton office. What you will be doing :
  1. Oversee the weekly/bi-weekly Canadian & US Payroll process.
  2. Guide and supervise Canadian & US payroll teams.
  3. Manage activities related to payroll accruals, ensuring reconciliation, reporting, and analysis in coordination with the corporate finance team.
  4. Lead the year-end processes in collaboration with Payroll leadership, ensuring all legislative requirements regarding tax withholding, remittance, and income reporting are met.
  5. Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  6. Adhere to all legislative requirements for payroll processing.
  7. Manage workload allocation and monitor payroll KPIs to assess team performance.
  8. Understand and apply US and Canadian payroll tax complexities.
  9. Oversee team to ensure process discipline, meeting deadlines, and guiding continuous improvement activities.
  10. Train and guide the payroll team on payroll tax regulations and processes.
  11. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to streamline operations.
Who you are :
  1. Minimum five years of relevant experience, including leading payroll administrator teams.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Knowledge of payroll practices involving salaried, hourly, union, and piece-rate employees.
  4. Experience collaborating with accounting, finance, and HR teams to ensure timely and accurate employee payments.
  5. Commitment to accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  6. Customer service oriented.
  7. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.).
  8. Proficiency with ERP accounting systems.
  9. A team player with the ability to work independently.
