Job summary

Dayforce is seeking a Payroll Specialist III to join our Managed Team. The role focuses on delivering end-to-end payroll services for clients, including benefits and tax components, with emphasis on accuracy and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have substantial payroll experience, strong knowledge of benefits, workforce management, and tax, and the ability to interface with clients to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

  • Two years of U.S. payroll processing experience in a high-volume operation.
  • Experience in payroll outsourcing or consulting industry is preferred.
  • Experience and clear understanding of payroll, benefits, taxation, and applicable legislative requirements.
  • Ability to resolve client issues and provide superior customer service to internal and external partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process all aspects of the payroll cycle including tax, benefits, garnishments, and other components; ensure accuracy and timely transmission.
  • Process payroll-changing events, tax forms, payments, and payroll processing for assigned clients.
  • Perform quality control and auditing to maintain low error/defect rates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve payroll matters and client inquiries.
  • Provide payroll support services to clients per contracts, legislative requirements and SLAs.
  • Maintain understanding of customers' requirements and ensure services meet contractual obligations and SLAs.
  • Create, update, and review standard operating procedures; perform quarterly reviews.
  • Own deliverables and projects from start to finish.
  • Manage tasks in the case management system with complete and timely documentation.
  • Proactively manage quarter- and year-end payroll auditing and processing.

About the Opportunity

Dayforce is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist III to join our Dayforce Managed Team. We service our clients by supporting the complete employee lifecycle, including payroll, workforce management, benefits, and contact center, allowing clients to focus on their core business.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in payroll and a strong working knowledge of benefits, workforce management, and tax. They will also have the ability to interface with clients and use critical thinking skills to resolve complex problems.

What You'll Get to Do
  • Ensure all aspects of the payroll cycle, including tax, benefits, garnishments, and other payroll components, are processed, reconciled, audited, and transmitted accurately and on time.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll-impacting changes, tax forms, payments, and payroll processing for assigned clients.
  • Perform quality control and auditing to ensure accuracy and maintain a low error or defect percentage.
  • Work with cross-functional internal partners to resolve client payroll matters and employee inquiries.
  • Provide payroll support services to clients according to Dayforce contracts, legislative requirements, and business needs.
  • Establish and maintain a deep understanding of customers' requirements and changing needs to ensure services are delivered according to contractual obligations and customer service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Create, update, and review standard operating procedures and perform quarterly document reviews.
  • Demonstrate an “I own it” attitude toward deliverables and projects from start to finish.
  • Manage client- and consumer-related tasks within the case management system, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.
  • Proactively manage quarter- and year-end payroll auditing and processing.
  • Think and act ahead, identify opportunities, and proactively contribute to process improvements.
Skills and Experience We Value
  • Must be available to accommodate shifts within operating hours between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
  • Must be available to work later or adjust shifts based on client assignments.
  • Two years of U.S. payroll processing experience in a high-volume payroll operation; end-to-end payroll experience is a plus.
  • Experience in the payroll outsourcing or consulting industry is preferred.
  • Experience and a clear understanding of payroll, benefits, taxation, and applicable legislative requirements.
  • Ability to resolve client issues and provide superior customer service to internal and external partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, technically, and effectively with customers and internal partners.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with intermediate proficiency in Excel.
What Would Make You Stand Out
  • Experience with Dayforce HCM or similar cloud payroll technology.
  • Multi-client payroll processing experience.
  • Experience processing payroll for 2,000 or more employees and working with enterprise-sized customers.
  • Industry-related certifications or a desire to obtain certification within two years of employment.
  • Strong working knowledge of quality control and auditing standards.
