Job Purpose

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and processing payroll for hourly employees, ensuring accurate and timely compensation. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that all payroll activities are efficiently executed, including data entry, timecard reviews, processing terminations, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Prepare payroll processing for hourly employees, ensuring timely and accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and benefits in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Add new associates into the HRIS system and ensure timely updates with accurate and current employee information.
  • Process terminations and generate Record of Employment (ROEs) for hourly employees, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Collect and review daily, weekly, and monthly timecards for all employees, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure all payroll approvals for hourly employees are addressed and completed on time for seamless processing.
  • Monitor and verify vacation, Leave of Absence (LOA), and other pay codes in HRIS, ensuring correct allocation and adherence to company policies.
  • Process retroactive pay, premium, and overtime forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Verify benefit eligibility for employees, ensuring proper enrollment and documentation in accordance with company benefits programs.
  • Prepare employment letters and other relevant documents for hourly employees as required, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
  • Prepare detailed payroll reports and analysis, identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
  • Scan, upload, and file payroll-related documents for easy access and retention, ensuring compliance with document management policies.
  • Conduct comprehensive payroll audits for all hourly employees, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulations.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information, including personnel matters, legal documents, financial data, contracts, and other proprietary information.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with employee payroll software and time and attendance records.
  • Excellent data entry and math skills.
  • Ability to keep track of numerous ongoing tasks.
  • Adherence to all prescribed ethical confidentiality guidelines.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
