Job summary

TransX Ltd. in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Payroll & Settlements Administrator to join the Human Resources team. The role focuses on timely payroll processing and settlements for Line Haul Drivers and Owner Operators, ensuring accuracy and compliance across Canada and the USA.

You will handle reporting, system reconciliation, and respond to payroll inquiries with a strong emphasis on data integrity and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Payroll knowledge preferred and/or enrolled in payroll compliance courses preferred.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in accounting or finance. Experience with settlement processing for both Canada and the USA, ideally within the trucking/transportation industry, is an asset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel. Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail. Experience with TMW and GP systems is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of Owner/Operator payroll structures and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; strong customer service mindset; organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing & Administration: Ensure timely and accurate payroll and settlement payments for Line Haul Drivers and Owner Operators. Validate trip details and record data in TMW.
  • Data Management & Compliance: Scan, import, and maintain payroll records for Canada and the United States. Verify accuracy and completeness across systems, ensuring compliance with policies, audits, and regulations.
  • Reporting & System Accuracy: Generate and maintain payroll reports for management; monitor system entries for accurate financial data and support audit preparation.
  • Employee & Departmental Support: Respond to payroll inquiries from drivers and internal teams; communicate clearly on payroll matters and resolve discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement & Coordination: Identify gaps and suggest improvements; coordinate with IT, HR, and Finance on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with projects and general administrative tasks.

The TransX Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll & Settlements Administrator to join the Human Resources department. The Payroll & Settlements Administrator is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll and settlements for Line Haul Drivers and Owner Operators. The incumbent ensures compliance, accuracy, and confidentiality while supporting departmental efficiency and contributing to overall excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Payroll Processing & Administration: Ensure timely and accurate payroll and settlement payments for Line Haul Drivers and Owner Operators. Validate trip details and record data in TMW.
