Job summary

TransX Ltd is seeking an OS&D Coordinator to join its Operations Department. Reporting to the Dock Manager, you will investigate overages, shortages and damaged freight, coordinate inspections, maintain documentation, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to support service continuity.

This role emphasizes teamwork with dock personnel, safety teams and customers; you will build strong relationships while aligning with TransX values of safety, integrity and respect.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 1–3 years in logistics, terminal operations, customer service or related field.
  • Transportation industry experience is an asset.
  • Hazardous materials handling training is an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and operational systems.
  • Knowledge of freight handling, transportation operations and workplace safety requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical ability.

Responsibilities

  • Freight discrepancy investigation & resolution: identify root causes and validate freight claims.
  • OS&D documentation & claims administration: maintain records and timelines.
  • Operational workflow coordination: monitor freight movements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Customer communication & service support: provide updates and liaise with customers.

OS&D (Over, Short, and Damage) Coordinator

Shift: Monday to Friday (07:30 AM - 03:30 PM)

TransX Ltd has an exciting opportunity for an OS&D (Over, Short, and Damage) Coordinator to join our Operations Department. Reporting directly to the Dock Manager, this position supports terminal operations by investigating and resolving overage, shortage, and damaged freight discrepancies throughout the transportation network. The incumbent coordinates freight inspections, maintains accurate documentation, researches operational issues, and communicates with internal and external stakeholders to support service continuity and freight accuracy.

Building strong relationships with internal operational teams, dock personnel, safety teams, and external customers is key for the OS&D Coordinator, facilitating the individual's professional growth and success within this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Freight Discrepancy Investigation & Resolution: Investigate overage, shortage, and damaged freight issues. Review shipment records and operational documentation to identify root causes, validate freight claims through inspections, coordinate recovery efforts, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • OS&D Documentation & Claims Administration: Prepare OS&D documentation, freight reports, and claim records. Maintain accurate records related to freight discrepancies and claims activity, coordinate repackaging for damaged shipments, and ensure documentation is completed within required timelines.
  • Operational Workflow Coordination: Monitor freight movement activities to support workflow continuity. Coordinate with dock operations personnel to resolve discrepancies, track deliveries/transfers, and support timely processing of OS&D freight.
  • Customer Communication & Service Support: Respond to customer inquiries related to freight discrepancies and claims activity. Provide shipment updates and freight status information while coordinating communication between customers and terminal operations.
  • Cross-Functional Operational Coordination: Coordinate activities across Operations, Customer Service, Safety, and Dock teams. Communicate freight status updates and support continuity between terminal operations and customer-facing teams while following freight handling guidelines.
  • Safety, Compliance & Reporting Support: Follow company safety procedures and hazardous materials requirements. Maintain a clean, organized OS&D work area. Support compliance with operational and workplace safety procedures. and prepare daily and weekly activity reports.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in logistics, terminal operations, customer service, or a related field.
  • Transportation industry experience is an asset.
  • Hazardous materials handling training is an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and operational systems.
  • Knowledge of freight handling, transportation operations, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical ability to evaluate information and identify practical solutions.
