About The Role

Fed Finance is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead and oversee payroll operations with accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. In this role, you will manage a payroll team, ensure the integrity of payroll processes, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support the payroll team, ensuring strong performance and development.
  • Plan and allocate resources to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Review and approve payroll data, ensuring completeness and compliance.
  • Identify and resolve payroll issues promptly.
  • Maintain adherence to federal / provincial laws and internal control standards.
  • Manage year-end processing, including the generation of tax slips and annual reports.
  • Collaborate on general ledger entries and annual audit preparation.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding payroll data.
  • Support the enhancement of payroll systems and process optimization.
  • Participate in the creation of management reports and special projects.

Required Qualifications

  • LAP certification from the National Payroll Institute (formerly known as GAP).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar payroll management role.
  • Experience with SAP payroll systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (advanced level).
  • Bilingual : fluent in both French and English, written and spoken.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance in Canada.
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Dimensions (UKG) is an asset.
  • Experience in the retail industry is considered an advantage.
