Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership.

  • Solid knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, and year-end processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience in a complex or multi-location payroll environment is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full payroll cycle, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the payroll team.
  • Review and validate employee payroll data and compensation-related changes.
  • Ensure payroll deductions, benefits, and other payments are processed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable payroll legislation, regulations, and company policies.
  • Oversee payroll reconciliations, audits, year-end processes, and required reporting.
  • Serve as a key resource for payroll systems, including UKG Pro and UKG WFM, supporting configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes, improve automation, and strengthen controls.
  • Prepare and maintain payroll reports, documentation, and reconciliation processes.
  • Resolve payroll issues and respond to inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and external partners on payroll-related initiatives and system improvements.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
