Job summary

Professional Staffing in Mississauga is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations within a multi-employee environment.

You will oversee full payroll cycle, ensure accuracy, manage a payroll team, and collaborate with HR, Finance and IT to optimize processes using UKG Pro and UKG WFM.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience with leadership
• PLP designation is an asset
• Experience with payroll system implementations or enhancements
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance and year-end processes
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience in complex or multi-location payroll environments
• Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills
• Highly organized with attention to detail and confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Lead full payroll cycle with accurate timely processing

• Oversee reconciliations, year-end processes and reporting

• Prepare payroll reports and reconciliation documentation
• Resolve payroll issues and respond to inquiries from employees and stakeholders
• Collaborate with HR, Finance and IT on payroll initiatives

Job description

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations within a complex, multi-employee environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full payroll cycle, ensuring accurate and timely processing
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the payroll team
• Review and validate employee payroll data and compensation-related changes
• Ensure payroll deductions, benefits, and other payments are processed accurately and on schedule
• Maintain compliance with applicable payroll legislation, regulations, and company policies
• Oversee payroll reconciliations, audits, year-end processes, and required reporting
• Serve as a key resource for payroll systems, including UKG Pro and UKG WFM, supporting configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and enhancements
• Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes, improve automation, and strengthen controls
• Prepare and maintain payroll reports, documentation, and reconciliation processes
• Resolve payroll issues and respond to inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and external partners on payroll-related initiatives and system improvements
• Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership experience
• PLP designation is an asset
• Experience supporting payroll system implementations or enhancements
• Solid knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, and year-end processes
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience in a complex or multi-location payroll environment is an asset
• Strong experience with payroll systems and technology
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and confidentiality
