Job summary

Altis Technology in Toronto is seeking a Finance Systems Business Analyst (Payroll) to help drive payroll transformation across finance and payroll operations. You will collaborate with payroll SMEs, finance leaders, project managers, and IT teams to translate business requirements into effective solutions.

The role offers exposure to global processes, system upgrades, and change management within a collaborative environment, with emphasis on process optimization and enterprise-wide impact.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a Business Analyst supporting payroll operations or payroll transformation.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and statutory requirements.
• Experience with Visio for process mapping and documentation.
• Experience creating BRDs, test scenarios and other analysis artifacts.
• Knowledge of payroll integrations with HR, finance and GL systems.
• Experience supporting testing, data validation and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Capture and document current-state and future-state payroll processes for transformation initiatives.
• Gather, analyze, and validate payroll requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify process gaps, risks and dependencies while supporting solution design and implementation.
• Support payroll data analysis, reconciliation, migration prep, and validation efforts.
• Coordinate and support user acceptance testing, defect tracking and resolution.
• Facilitate workshops with payroll stakeholders to drive alignment.
• Contribute to process improvements, system upgrades, and payroll modernization initiatives across global teams.

Skills and Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting payroll operations, payroll systems, or payroll transformation initiatives
• Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and applicable statutory requirements
• Experience with Visio is a must
• Experience creating process maps, business requirements documentation, test scenarios, and other analysis artifacts
• Knowledge of payroll integrations with HR, finance, banking, and general ledger systems
• Experience supporting testing, data validation, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills
• Exposure to global or multi-country payroll environments is considered a strong asset
