  • Process payroll transactions : Handle daily payroll operations, including employee changes such as rate increases, promotions, and adjusted work hours.
  • Administer benefits : Manage benefit enrolments and changes, troubleshoot discrepancies, and resolve employee inquiries about their benefits.
  • Respond to inquiries : Provide timely responses to employee and stakeholder queries related to payroll.
  • Streamline HRIS and payroll systems : Utilize integrated systems to optimize payroll processes and improve data accuracy.

  • Conduct audits : Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy within payroll systems.
  • Assist with year-end processes : Support the preparation of T4 statements, T2200 forms, and other statutory documents during year-end.
  • Contribute to system improvements : Participate in the implementation and optimization of payroll and HRIS systems, focusing on process enhancements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Payroll Expertise : 5 years of experience in Canadian payroll administration, with in-depth knowledge of federal and provincial payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Systems Thinking : Strong understanding of how payroll and HRIS functions connect, including how payroll impacts other areas and how system changes affect payroll. Ability to anticipate and resolve potential issues before they arise.
  • HRIS & Payroll Systems Ownership : Experience as a primary administrator of an HRIS and payroll system is an asset, including managing configurations, troubleshooting system issues, ensuring seamless payroll integration, and working with SFTP files.
  • Microsoft Suite Proficiency : Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite, with a focus on Microsoft Excel.

  • Collaboration & Communication : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support internal teams and liaise with external agencies.
  • Confidentiality & Ethics : High ethical standards with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in payroll and HR information.

What We Offer

  • Flexibility : Hybrid work options in Calgary and Edmonton, with potential for remote arrangements.
  • Health & Wellness Benefits : Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits, along with an Employee & Family Assistance Program.
