Qualifications

  • Mindestens 2 Jahre Erfahrung in der Lohn- und Leistungsverwaltung.
  • Postgraduiertenbildung in Buchhaltung oder Betriebswirtschaft erforderlich.

Position Summary:

This role is ideal for someone looking to build a foundation in payroll, benefits administration, and HR coordination within a growing manufacturing business. The candidate must have prior experience in processing payroll & benefits. As a key team member, you will own full-cycle payroll, manage employee benefits, coordinate with staffing partners, and support HR functions. You will also produce daily reports on labour productivity, overtime, and attendance to support operational decisions.

This full-time, onsite position offers development across multiple departments, with mentorship from experienced HR and Finance leaders. For the right candidate, there is significant growth potential into more advanced payroll or total rewards roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Process full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy from punch clocks, timesheets, and attendance records.
  2. Maintain payroll records including hires, terminations, wage changes, leaves, and benefits deductions, ensuring compliance with CRA and ESA regulations.
  3. Perform payroll audits to identify errors, verify wage calculations, and ensure correct application of overtime and statutory pay.
  4. Track vacation, leaves of absence, and attendance, ensuring records are accurate and policy-compliant.
  5. Submit payroll remittances and reports to government agencies and vendors on time, including WSIB, EHT, CPP, EI, and income tax.
  6. Manage final settlements for resignations, terminations, and retirements, ensuring accurate pay calculations and ROE issuance.
  7. Prepare and submit government remittances and third-party payments, maintaining compliance and timeliness.
  8. Handle year-end payroll filings, T4s, and ROEs, maintaining audit-ready records.
  9. Keep payroll and employment files confidential and up-to-date in HRIS (HUMI).
  10. Administer employee benefits plans, including onboarding, changes, and coordination with providers.
  11. Audit benefits enrollments and invoices, reconciling discrepancies with vendors.
  12. Serve as main contact for payroll and benefits inquiries, handling concerns professionally and confidentially.
  13. Review weekly time entries and attendance, identifying discrepancies and collaborating with HR.
  14. Prepare daily reports on productivity, overtime, absenteeism, and timecard issues for operational support.
  15. Coordinate with staffing agencies for hires, replacements, and reporting discrepancies.
  16. Maintain job agency rate sheets and prepare weekly invoice estimates.
  17. Assist with other HR and administrative tasks, fostering team collaboration.
  18. Participate in JHSC meetings and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with OHSA.
  19. Support HR programs, employee relations, and engagement activities with the HR Manager.
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll laws and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency with payroll software systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Discretion handling sensitive information.
  • Effective time management and prioritization.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Education & Experience:
  • Postgraduate education in Accounting, Payroll, or Business Administration.
  • 2+ years experience in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Experience with data entry, financial reporting, and scheduling.
  • Manufacturing experience is an asset.
