Elby Professional Recruitment is seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join a standalone payroll role supporting employees across Canada and the United States. You will own full-cycle payroll, benefits administration, and payroll system maintenance, with Dayforce expertise driving accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing for Canadian and U.S. groups.
  • Administer employee benefits and pension programs.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with applicable legislation and policies.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations and audit data; investigate discrepancies.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, reporting, and government remittances.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and documentation.
  • Serve as primary contact for payroll and benefits inquiries.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join their team in a standalone payroll role supporting employees across Canada and the United States. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving complex payroll challenges, and serving as a trusted resource for employees and leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance, reporting, and payroll system maintenance. The organization is looking for someone with strong Dayforce expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to navigate a complex payroll environment with confidence and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing for multiple Canadian and U.S. payroll groups.
  • Administer employee benefits, pension programs, employee leaves, and payroll-related changes.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable legislation and company policies.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations, audit payroll data, and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, reporting requirements, and government remittances.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll and benefits inquiries.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to support payroll analysis, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
  • Troubleshoot payroll system issues and support ongoing process improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure payroll, benefits, and employee data are maintained accurately.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong recent experience working with Dayforce is required.
  • 3+ years of experience processing payroll within a complex, multi-payroll environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and best practices.
  • Benefits administration experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to perform data analysis, auditing, and reconciliations.
  • Strong financial acumen and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience supporting U.S. payroll is considered a strong asset.
  • PCP designation is considered an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation practices.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach.
