Job summary

Emterra Group in Surrey, BC is seeking a Payroll & Benefit Coordinator to join our head office, reporting to the Payroll and Benefits Manager. The successful candidate will administer payroll and benefits for 400+ employees, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time in line with company and government policies.

This role requires a highly organized individual who can meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-location environment, demonstrating strong attention to detail and analytical

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years payroll experience in a multi-location environment.
  • Canadian Payroll Association Certificate completed or in progress.
  • Experience with Payworks or similar payroll/time management system required.

Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end bi-weekly payroll for 400+ salary, hourly and union employees in the Western Region using Payworks.
  • Set up new hires, employee changes, terminations, and ROEs ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate Time & Attendance using the Payworks system across branches and management.

Job Summary

Emterra Group is looking for a Payroll& Benefit Coordinator to join our head office in Surrey, BritishColumbia, reporting to the Payroll and Benefits Manager. The successfulcandidate will administer payroll and benefits for about 400+ employeesensuring payroll is processed in a timely, accurate manner and in accordancewith Company and government policies. This position requires a highly organizedperson who can meet deadlines in fast paced, multi-location environment,demonstrating strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

PositionDescription
  • Process end-to-end bi-weekly payrollfor 400+ salary, hourly and union employees in the Western Region through” Payworks”HRMS integrated employee time and attendance tracking and Payroll System.
  • Execute and manage day-to-daypayroll related duties; including setting up new hires, employee changes, terminationsand preparation of ROE’s.; ensuring all required deadlines are achieved in atimely manner.
  • Function as the Time and AttendanceSystem Coordinator acting as a liaison between Branch locations and managementregarding Payworks Time & Attendance system.
  • Provide support in relation to BenefitsAdministration for all Western Provinces Emterra employees.
  • Investigate and resolve any Payroll issues,supporting Division managers as required, including Benefit inquiries.
  • Ensure the timely processing ofjournal entries, and accruals into Accounting System including supportingpayroll account reconciliations.
  • Support with preparing, reconcilingquarterly and annual payments for Western Provincial WCB and EHT accounts.
  • Preparation and coordination ofT4’s, T2200, ROE’s, year-end adjustments.
  • Create and/or run Reports frompayroll or time and attendance system as required.
  • Other duties and analysis asrequired.
Skills& Qualifications
  • 3 – 5 (Three-five) years of payroll experiencein multi-location environment.
  • Canadian Payroll Association Certificate –completed or in progress.
  • Experiencein “Payworks” or similar payroll and time management system is required. Experiencein other large third-party Payroll software will be considered in place of Payworks.
  • Understandingof basic accounting principles sufficient to perform journal entries andpayroll account reconciliations.
  • Experiencewith Microsoft Dynamics “Business Central” would be an asset.
  • Strongcomputer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effectivecommunication and interpersonal relationship skills in working effectively withvarious levels of staff, customers, and vendors.
  • Detailoriented and adherence to strict deadlines.
  • Excellentorganizational skills and must be able to multitask.
