Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company is seeking a Payroll Analyst to lead the Canadian payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely payments while meeting regulatory obligations. You will collaborate with Global IT, HRSS, and external partners to optimize processes using automation and AI.

Role requires 5+ years in payroll within a multinational environment, CPA certification, and strong project management and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA certification (Canadian Payroll Association) required.
  • 5+ years of payroll experience in a multinational corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll processes, tax structure, statutory deductions, and international/shadow payroll.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and advanced communication skills; capable of presenting to senior management.
  • Experience leading payroll transformation and technology migration initiatives.
  • Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee execution of all Canadian payroll processes with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure full compliance with tax laws and monitor regulatory changes.
  • Drive payroll process improvements through automation and AI; document changes.
  • Lead annual equity reporting file preparation and processing.
  • Lead annual corporate bonus file preparation and processing, including accruals/forecast.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal COEs, external tax vendors, and government agencies.
  • Represent Canadian payroll in enterprise payroll forums and projects.
  • Coordinate with HRSS on process improvements and policy changes; implement locally.
