Job description

This range is provided by Vaco. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range

CA$70,000.00/yr - CA$80,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing: Utilize payroll software (ADP) to accurately calculate and process payroll for employees, including regular wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
  • Timekeeping Management: Oversee the timekeeping system to ensure accurate recording of employee hours worked, including verifying timesheets and resolving any discrepancies
  • Employee Onboarding and Offboarding: Coordinate payroll-related tasks for new hires, such as setting up direct deposit and completing tax forms
  • Process payroll adjustments and final payments for terminated employees
  • Benefits Administrati on: Assist HR with questions related to payroll, taxes, and benefits
  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate administration of employee benefits, such as health insurance and retirement plans
  • Compliance: Stay informed about federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns and other required documentation promptly
  • Reporting: Generate payroll reports as needed for internal use or to meet regulatory requirements
  • Provide financial data and analysis related to payroll expenses as requested
  • Assist with year-end payroll-related annual reporting and reconciliation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in payroll administration or a related role
  • Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations for both Canada and the US
  • Proficient with ADP payroll software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff members and external stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
