Job summary

Agrifoods International Cooperative Ltd in Burnaby, BC is seeking a Payroll Administrator on a 13-month contract to join our Payroll Team. You will handle bi-weekly payroll processing, benefits administration, and support the payroll group with key tasks.

The role requires 2–3 years of Canadian payroll experience, knowledge of payroll systems, strong Excel skills, and attention to detail. French is a plus; PCP certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for head office and payroll team.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and address discrepancies.
  • Assist with payroll journal entries, source deductions, and tax filings.
  • Administer employee benefits including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end reporting tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and company policies.
  • Provide backup payroll support as needed.

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our Payroll Team! In this role, you will be responsible for the administration of payroll and benefits while supporting the payroll team as needed.

ROLE: Payroll Administrator (13-month contract)
REPORTS TO: Payroll Manager
LOCATION: Burnaby, BC

Payroll Description
Detailed Description of Duties:
  • Support the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.
  • Manage payroll data for new hires, terminations, ROEs, rate adjustments, and deductions.
  • Reconcile and maintain payroll filings, including benefits, WCB, and tax submissions.
  • Assist with payroll journal entries, source deductions, and month-end/year-end reporting.
  • Help administer employee benefits, including enrollments, updates, and terminations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
