Job summary

Fed Finance Canada is seeking an Accounts Payable Technician for a temporary role in downtown Montreal (Peel area) with a hybrid schedule: four days remote and one day on-site weekly. You will support the centralized AP team, manage vendor invoices, and help optimize processes in a tech-driven, international environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in AP, a formal accounting credential, and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, plus NetSuite experience.

Qualifications

• DEP, AEC or DEC in Accounting.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable.
• Experience in a tech-driven or high-growth environment is a plus.

Mission

Your Role Reporting to the centralized Accounts Payable team, you will support vendor management activities across all entities within the organization. You will work in a collaborative, technology-driven, and fast-paced environment where continuous improvement and process automation play a key role. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented, curious, and tech-savvy professional looking to further develop their expertise within a growing international company.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full accounts payable cycle. Receive, review, and process vendor invoices. Enter invoices into the ERP system. Prepare payment batches and ensure payments are processed according to established deadlines. Follow up on payments with vendors and internal stakeholders. Collaborate with various departments to obtain the required approvals. Maintain and monitor payment schedules and tracking reports using Google Sheets. Participate in month-end closing activities and prepare journal entries when required. Contribute to the optimization and automation of accounts payable processes. Assist with various projects and other related responsibilities within the Finance team.

Approximate Volume

Approximately 300 invoices per month.

Your profile

Candidate Profile Education DEP, AEC, or DEC in Accounting. Experience 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role. Experience managing the full accounts payable cycle. Experience in a technology-driven or high-growth environment is considered an asset.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of Excel, including Pivot Tables. Good knowledge of Google Sheets. Experience working with an accounting ERP system, ideally NetSuite. Comfortable using technology and working in digital environments.

Soft Skills

Excellent attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and high level of accuracy. Structured and methodical approach to work. Curious mindset and willingness to learn. Resourceful and able to work independently. Proactive, with the ability to take initiative and ask the right questions. Team-oriented and collaborative attitude. Strong interest in technology and process improvement.

Languages

Professional French. Advanced English required to communicate regularly with colleagues and business partners across Canada and internationally.
