Job summary

Vertigo Theatre in Calgary is seeking a dynamic Director of Patron Services to lead Front of House and Bar operations during performances and events. You will supervise staff and volunteers, oversee budgeting, and ensure exceptional patron experiences.

Responsibilities include staff scheduling, data integrity, liaising with caterers and sponsors, and maintaining health and safety standards, aiming for financial success and outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of diverse experience in management, staff and volunteer coordination, special events, audience services, and Food and Beverage services.
• Financial/Budget Management is an asset.
• Must be highly organized with the ability to handle numerous tasks at one time.
• Strong leadership qualities and time management skills.
• Outstanding collaborator and team player.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall financial success and patron experience of the Bar Services department by monitoring productivity, revenues, and costs.
• Ensure the smooth daily and long-term operation of the Front of House, Bar Services, and in-lobby events.
• Manage scheduling of volunteers and data integrity using the volunteer management system.
• Lead budgeting process of the Bar Services department with clear priorities for expenditures.
• Provide leadership, guidance, support and supervision to Front of House and Bar staff.
• Liaise with caterers and sponsors to confirm attendance and event details.
• Ensure communication between departments relating to Front of House and Bar Services.
• Ensure compliance with AGLC regulations.
• Ensure equipment and furnishings are kept in good repair.
• Attend to patrons during events and supervise staff as needed.
• Manage staff scheduling, performance issues, and reviews.
• Prepare pre-show and post-show volunteer orientation/appreciation events.
• Oversee setup and dismantling of events in lobby and Catalyst Lounge.
• Maintain a safe culture and Health & Safety standards.
• Develop strong relationships with patrons continuously.
