Qualifications

• Food safety certification required or equivalent.
• Strong supervisory and leadership abilities with a track record of coaching staff.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse teams and coordinate with clinical/nursing staff.
• Knowledge of catering operations and food service processes.
• Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily patient meal service operations and ensure timely, accurate meal delivery.
• Lead, coach, and support food service employees, including scheduling, training, performance management, and attendance monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with therapeutic diets, patient food preferences, allergies, and nutrition standards.
• Collaborate with Dietitians, Clinical Nutrition Managers, Nursing staff, and unit teams to resolve patient nutrition and meal service concerns.
• Conduct daily quality assurance audits of meal accuracy, temperatures, sanitation, and patient satisfaction.
• Monitor staffing levels and adjust assignments to meet operational requirements.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and ongoing staff development.
• Assist Shift Managers to supervise multiple food service units.
