Job summary

Alforno is expanding its pastry team in Calgary, seeking passionate individuals to produce high-quality baked goods and desserts under the Teatro Group. You will collaborate with a talented team, follow safety guidelines, and contribute to daily production, storage, and waste monitoring while maintaining exceptional presentation.

The Pastry Cook works under the Pastry Sous Chef and Pastry Chef, refining skills and supporting menu development within a growth-oriented culinary environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of pastry experience in a similar environment.
• Diploma or degree in Pastry & Baking Culinary Arts or equivalent is an asset.
• A valid Food Safety Certificate is required to ensure safety and quality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Weigh, measure, and portion ingredients.
• Demonstrated creativity in food.
• Sound knowledge of the preparation of baked goods and desserts.
• Operate all kitchen appliances (ovens, induction cooktops, gas burners, steamers, mixers, etc).
• Receive, store, and organize food supplies in storage areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
• Contribute to dessert creation and menu changes.
