Job summary

SMS Equipment Inc. in Whitehorse seeks a Parts Technician at apprentice or journeyperson level to join our growing team. You will assist customers with parts, price information, and sourcing alternatives when OEM parts aren’t available, while supporting warehouse processes.

This on-site role offers a base wage range of $33.10–$47.29 per hour, relocation assistance may be provided, and a Monday–Friday schedule in a safety‑focused environment at SMS Equipment's Whitehorse branch.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with accurate parts and pricing information and source alternatives when OEM parts aren’t available.
• Maintain inventories: identify, catalog, order, receive, inspect, sort, stock, and upsell.
• Prepare invoicing, track orders, and manage shipping/receiving information for the warehouse.
• Process CORE returns and assist with inventory counts and inspections.

Base Wage: $33.10 - $47.29 per hour (Dependent upon certification/apprenticeship level). Additional premiums may apply.
Location: Whitehorse, YK (relocation assistance may be provided)
Schedule: Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm)

What You’ll Do

• Providing customer with accurate parts and pricing information and sourcing alternative parts options when OEM parts are not available for order.
• Maintaining parts inventories including identifying and cataloguing parts and assemblies, ordering, receiving, inspecting, sorting, stock handling, and up selling
• Completing and entering all required documentation including preparing invoicing, following and tracking orders, shipping and receiving information for warehouse, data entry of purchase and work orders, and maintaining price lists and catalogues
• Processing CORE returns as required and assisting with inventory counts and inspections
  Other duties as required

What You Bring

The successful candidate will possess previous Parts Technician experience and/or education. Other requirements include:

• Considers safety a priority
• Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Valid Class 5 drivers licence
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives
• Strong focus on providing valuable customer service
• Intermediate level of knowledge of MS Office Suite and computerized inventory systems is required
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Previous experience in Heavy Duty parts is considered a strong asset
