Job summary

Cummins in Kamloops, BC seeks a Parts Representative to maintain stock/inventory, process orders, and respond to enquiries. You will assist customers, technicians, and internal staff with parts sourcing and documentation, while following safety policies and performing warehouse duties as needed.

The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration with technicians, and opportunities to upsell related products. Some travel and adherence to company procedures are required.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to support internal and external customers.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Heavy Duty/Mining/ Industrial parts experience given preference.
  • Working knowledge of parts order processing and order life cycle systems.
  • Ability to manage inventory using warehouse inventory control methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and computer systems, including report generation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Distribution Business customers, technicians, and internal personnel in identifying and securing required parts and supplies
  • Perform customer parts counter duties including receiving calls, greeting walk-in customers, completing paperwork, and processing transactions
  • Utilize systems, catalogs, and other resources to identify, source, and procure parts efficiently
  • Support technicians and parts personnel with complex parts requests or alternative solutions
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to parts transactions, inventory, and core processing
  • Maintain a clean, organized customer parts area and warehouse
  • Identify opportunities to upsell supporting products and services when appropriate
  • Comply with Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies and use required PPE
  • Perform additional parts-related duties including inventory management, shipping and receiving, and warehouse activities

Job Summary:

Under some supervision, enter data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock/inventory and training records; retrieve stored information to respond to enquiries (for example on inventory levels or delivery schedules.) Perform other routine administrative activities according to the organization's established procedures. These activities may include responding to customer escalations, order allocation, part profile & inventory records; preparing reports, training operators, customs compliance processes, domestic and international transportation related procedures and completing forms (receipt, transfer, delivery, dispatch, etc.)

We are looking for a talented Parts Representative to join our Distribution business in Kamloops .

Will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Assist Distribution Business customers, technicians, and internal personnel in identifying and securing required parts and supplies
  • Perform customer parts counter duties including receiving calls, greeting walk-in customers, completing paperwork, and processing cash, check, and credit card transactions
  • Utilize systems, catalogs, and other resources to identify, source, and procure parts in a cost- and time-efficient manner
  • Support technicians and other parts personnel with complex parts requests or alternative solutions
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to parts transactions, inventory, and core processing
  • Maintain a clean, organized customer parts area and warehouse
  • Identify opportunities to upsell supporting products and services when appropriate
  • Comply with Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies and use required personal protective equipment
  • Perform additional parts-related duties including inventory management, shipping and receiving, and warehouse activities as assigned
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to support internal and external customers
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Heavy Duty/Mining/ Industrial parts experience given preference
  • Working knowledge of parts order processing and order life cycle systems
  • Ability to manage inventory using warehouse inventory control methodologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and computer systems, including report generation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians and cross-functional teams
  • Action-oriented mindset with a focus on accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Some relevant work experience or intermediate knowledge gained through education, training, or on-the-job experience
  • Ability to comply with export controls or sanctions regulations, if applicable
