Job summary

Maker's Pride is seeking a reliable team member for 1st shift in Grand Rapids, MB. The role involves receiving and stocking items, picking and issuing stock, and maintaining inventory accuracy within a bakery-setting environment.

You will work Monday through Friday with early morning hours and must follow GMP and safety guidelines. Candidates should have basic math/reading skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and good communication.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and stocking items.
  • Picking and issuing items.
  • Returning items to stock.
  • Conducting inventory audits as requested.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Ensuring GMP compliance at all times.
  • Communicating clearly with coworkers and supervision.
  • Adhering to attendance and schedule requirements.
  • Following all safety, health and environmental regulations.
  • Reporting any foreign materials to supervisor immediately.

Hours Of Operation

Monday through Friday (Weekends a must)

1st Shift: 6:55AM - 3:00PM
Position Objectives
  • Must have basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing components, and must be capable of identifying the same.
  • Must have basic knowledge of types of processing and packaging equipment used in the bakery.
  • Must be able and willing to follow directions as issued by supervisor.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be polite and possess good housekeeping characteristics.
  • Must be responsible and self-motivated.
  • Must be honest and trust worthy.
Essential Functions
  • Receiving and stocking items.
  • Pick and issue items.
  • Return item to stock.
  • Inventory audits as requested or necessary.
  • Practice good housekeeping, including clean up at end of shift.
  • Responsible for security of tool room.
  • Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.’s) at all times.
  • Verbally communicates instructions, problems, etc. to co-workers, supervisors and employees from all departments.
  • Meet Company attendance standards of start and end time for work as scheduled.
  • Comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law.
  • Complies with Company rules, regulations and policies.
  • May perform other functions as assigned.
  • Any foreign materials found in product or ingredients need to be reported to a supervisor immediately.
Physical/Menal Requirements
  • Reaching with hands/arms throughout shift.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers.
  • Ability to see, hear and talk.
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in light to moderate noise levels; hearing protection may be required.
  • Able to walk up to 400 yards to work areas.
  • Communicate in English to give and acknowledge instructions and problems.
  • Physical and mental ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Able to stand eight hours per shift.
  • Repetitive reaching over head, under and across throughout shift.
  • Push/pull items up to 2600 lbs. With assistance.
  • May crawl under equipment to reach work area.
  • Perform general housekeeping, including sweeping, mopping, etc.
  • May climb steps to and from work and break areas.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment in close proximity to others.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
  • Possess basic math skills for counting, adding and subtracting.
  • Ability to work in variable temperature and weather conditions.
  • Repetitive bending, stooping and twisting throughout shift.
  • Ability to work in wet, humid areas.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.
  • Ability to work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary.
  • May work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to electrical shock, fumes, airborne particles and vibration.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Receptive to new ideas, concepts and/or procedures.
  • Receptive and responsive to constructive criticism.

Experience And Skills
