Job summary

Inland Truck & Equipment in Vernon, BC is hiring a Parts Counterperson to assist customers and technicians with parts and supplies, while driving monthly sales targets. You will promote parts and accessories, provide excellent service, and stay updated on new products.

This role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The position offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of parts counter sales experience preferred.
• Post-secondary diploma or trade certification is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication is required.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Professional ethics and a customer-first mindset.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.

• Promote sale of parts and accessories to all customers: walk-in, telephone or internal technicians.
• Provide exceptional customer service to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Keep abreast of new products and updates through ongoing learning.
• Locate all parts as requested by customers and/or technicians.
• Prepare parts invoices and credit notes for all counter sales and issue parts for work orders.
• Participate in regular inventory cycle counts and assist in maintaining stock.
• Accurately document all shipping and receiving of parts.
• Maintain files and update parts information regularly.

PAY RATE

Wage range for this position is $27.00- $46.00 based on experience.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Parts Counterperson, you will be responsible for assisting customers and technicians in obtaining required parts and supplies while achieving monthly sales targets through encouraging additional parts sales.

Your Responsibilities

• Promote sale of parts and accessories to all customers: walk-in, telephone or internal technicians
• Provide exceptional customer service to maximum customer satisfaction
• Keep abreast of all new products and updates through continuous learning
• Locate all parts as requested by customers and/or technicians
• Prepare parts invoices and credit notes for all counter sales and issue parts for all work orders
• Participate in regular inventory cycle counts and assist in maintaining stock
• Accurately document all shipping and receiving of parts
• Maintain files and update parts related information on a regular basis

What We Look For

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Post-secondary diploma or trade certification preferred
• Prior parts counter sales experience or parts/warehousing knowledge preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Great interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to work with others
• Ability to self-manage time and set priorities while handling multiple responsibilities
• Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong business ethics with a professional approach at all times
• Must have valid Driver's License
• Forklift Certification or ability to attain certification
