Job summary

Inland Truck & Equipment, a leading heavy truck parts sales dealership in Winnipeg, MB, seeks a Product Support Representative to drive parts sales and profitability across a designated territory. You will call on customers, introduce promotions and provide exceptional service to grow volume and account value.

The role requires knowledge of heavy truck parts and dealership operations, with strong sales skills and travel between Inland branches in Canada and the USA.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of heavy truck parts and shop operations.
• Qualification as a truck Parts Journeyperson preferred.
• Excellent sales skills.
• Three years related experience and/or training.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel locally and to the USA with passport.

Responsibilities

• Develop and achieves maximum sales volumes consistent with projections for assigned accounts.
• Provide value added services with consistent customer visits.
• Conduct new (cold) sales calls on a weekly basis.
• Monitor operations of assigned accounts and advise on inventory and services.
• Conduct sales calls with accounts to introduce new products and promotions.
• Provide superior customer service to all accounts.
• Plan territory coverage and manage time as per management expectations.
• Complete customer call report with weekly results summary.
• Control personal expenses within the approved budget and submit weekly reports.
• Investigate and refer customer issues to Department/General Manager; assist counter staff.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Product Support Representative (Outside Parts Salesperson - Truck Parts Sales) is a sales leader in heavy truck parts sales and will be responsible for selling heavy truck parts and accessories to new and existing customers. In this role you will also be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing maximum parts department profitability and sales volumes of assigned accounts within a designated territory. In this outside sales position you will call on customers, introduce products and promotions and provide superior customer service to all accounts in your territory.

This position requires knowledge of heavy truck parts, commercial truck shop operations and/or experience in a truck dealership as parts technician/parts counterperson.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and achieves maximum sales volumes consistent with sales projections for assigned accounts
• Provide value added services with consistent customer visits
• Conduct new (cold) sales calls on a weekly basis
• Monitor operations of assigned accounts, offers advice and assistance when required in areas such as inventory control, available services, new products and/or product enhancements
• Conduct sales calls with assigned accounts to introduce new products and promotions
• Provide superior customer service to all accounts
• Plan territory coverage and manages time consistent with expectations of management
• Complete customer call report with weekly summary of results
• Control personal expenses within the approved budget and submits weekly expense reports
• Investigate and refers customer issues to the appropriate Department Manager and/or General Manager
• Assist counter personnel with orders, deliveries and customer inquiries

What We Look For

• Knowledge of heavy truck parts and accessories, commercial truck shop operations and/or experience in a truck dealership as parts technician/parts counterperson required.
• Qualification as a truck Parts Journeyperson preferred
• Excellent sales skills, preferably in a related field
• Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills
• Travel within and outside of the local area required including sales calls, customer visits and/or meetings at Inland branches, training programs or seminars, trips to vendor and OEM locations. This may include travel in both Canada and the USA, so it is essential you hold and maintain a valid driver's licence and passport at all times and be able to travel as required.
