The City of Timmins is seeking a Part-time Service Person for Timmins Transit. Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will perform routine servicing and cleaning of transit vehicles, install signs, manage fare boxes, and maintain transit stops and shelters.

This position is part-time (0–24 hours per week) with Ontario CVOR requirements and union CUPE Local 1544. Interviews are scheduled around November 12, 2026.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License Class CZ or BZ.
• Current and clear Driver’s Abstract.
• Knowledge of CVOR requirements.
• Familiarity with city street names and locations.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsabilités

Position Summary

Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, the Service Person will perform tasks related to Transit operations as follows:

• routine servicing and cleaning of transit vehicles
• bus change-offs as required
• sign installation
• fare box handling
• maintaining transit property (including stops and shelters)
• other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalency
• Applicant must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License Class “CZ” or “BZ”
• Current and clear Driver’s Abstract
• Knowledge and understanding of Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) requirements
• Good knowledge of the names and locations of City Streets
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
