Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring a Server to work in our bright and welcoming dining room at a retirement residence in Canada. You will support with setup, serving, and cleanup, delivering meals to residents and guests with professionalism and courtesy.

Preferred candidates will have experience in food service and with seniors, be able to lift heavy items, and participate in special events. Proficiency in a second language is an asset, and accommodation is available upon request.

Qualifications

• Preference given to individuals with experience in the food service industry and working with seniors
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for the majority of shift
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
• Current (within 6 months) VPS or willingness to obtain one upon hire

Responsibilities

• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner
• To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required
• To assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery after each dining service
• To assist with maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and dining area
• To assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events
• To assist in orientation and training of new culinary employees
• To follow health and safety legislation and safe job procedures
• To comply with provincial regulations and policies
• To respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities
• To attend in-service training and staff meetings as required
• To participate in the Quality Improvement Program
• To uphold the organization’s Code of Conduct and values
• To complete all other tasks as assigned
