Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. in Kitchener, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Nurse (Casual/Part-time) to coordinate nursing services for residents within the neighbourhood and collaborate with other teams.

You will lead shift reports and ensure changes in residents’ status are communicated promptly. The role requires a strong background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing, a Bachelor’s in Nursing, and registration in good standing.

Qualifications

• A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Knowledge of relevant Canadian acts and regulations influencing Nursing Home operations.
• Registration and membership in good standing with provincial registry.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing and other services for the residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.
• Leads shift report with health care team members and informs changes in residents’ status.
• Records significant changes in residents’ condition and ensures documentation complies with AgeCare policies and provincial standards.
• Reviews and processes physician orders and communicates any difficulties to leadership.
• Immediately communicates issues in processing physician orders to the Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care.
