The role emphasizes ongoing professional development, BCLS and ACLS training, patient assessment, teaching and collaboration with physicians, unit clerks and allied health professionals.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Valid BCLS and ACLS training maintained throughout employment.
• Preference for medical/surgical experience, IV therapy, telemetry.
• Computer literacy and teaching experience would be an asset.
• Ability to work within an inter-professional team and maintain documentation per standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for medical-surgical inpatients within a multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain competence through ongoing education and certifications including BCLS and ACLS.
• Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, therapists and support staff to ensure patient-centered care.
• Document patient care accurately and adhere to policies and safety procedures.
• Demonstrate professional development and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
