Job summary

The Town of Oakville seeks a Master Instructor – Sports for evening and some weekend programs. You will coach multiple sports for all ages, ensuring safe, engaging sessions and personal development.

Strong First Aid/PHCD certification and coaching or playing experience are essential. You will lead programs, prepare plans, supervise assistants, and maintain safety and customer service standards.

Qualifications

  • Current Intermediate First Aid with CPR C (3 years validity) from WSIB-approved provider.
  • HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) certification is a requirement.
  • Proven experience with children, youth and adults.
  • Coaching Certification and/or rep playing experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability in volleyball, football, soccer, tennis, hockey, floor hockey, badminton, basketball or skateboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sport instruction to program registrants.
  • Arrive on time to prepare and start programs.
  • Develop detailed program plans for varied ages and skill levels.
  • Follow the class format and content as required.
  • Ensure on-site safety of participants.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to participants.
  • Provide feedback and progress plans to registrants and parents.
  • Conduct program administration (attendance, registrations, incident reports).
  • Supervise instructor assistants and youth volunteers.
  • Liaise with Facility Manager, Program Supervisor and staff.
  • Notify Recreation Coordinator of problems/recommendations.
  • Attend staff meetings and meet prospective customers to provide information.
