Job summary

LCDS in Petrolia, Ontario is hiring a part-time Maintenance Worker to support our Lambton County locations. You will perform routine building maintenance, minor repairs, and ensure safe, organized facilities across sites.

The role offers 24 hours per week with day, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts as needed, and includes benefits such as vacation time, pension matching, and employee assistance. The ideal candidate can work independently and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in commercial or residential settings is an asset.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between sites.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physically demanding work.
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including some evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Complete preventative maintenance and general upkeep tasks (painting, drywall, sprinklers).
• Perform repairs in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and notify supervisor of purchases.
• Move furniture, equipment and supplies as needed.
• Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and tools.

What we are hiring for:

We are currently hiring a part-time Maintenance Worker for our locations across Lambton County, Ontario. The successful candidate will support LCDS by:

• Performing routine building maintenance and minor repairs related to HVAC, plumbing and electrical
• Completing preventative maintenance and general upkeep tasks including painting, drywall repairs, sprinkler system checks
• Completing repairs in a timely manner
• Maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment and informing supervisor of purchases as required
• Performing inspections on the building and equipment as requiredlk
• Noting any security and safety measures that may need to be in place to supervisor
• Moving furniture, equipment and supplies
• Performing seasonal grounds maintenance as required
• Maintaining facilities, work areas, and tools in a clean, organized and safe condition

Qualifications/Skills:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends if required

Compensation and scheduling:

• $25.19 per hour
• Part-time 24 hours per week including days, afternoons, evenings and weekends as needed
