Job summary

LCDS is hiring multiple part-time Direct Support Professionals across Lambton County, including Petrolia. Responsibilities include supporting individuals with developmental disabilities at home and in the community, with daily living tasks and community engagement.

Requirements include a valid G or G2 license, clear police check, and First Aid/CPR. Compensation ranges from $23.59 to $24.28 per hour, with a mix of day, afternoon, and weekend shifts, and opportunities for additional hours.

Qualifications

• Valid "G or G2" license and reliable vehicle.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Current NVCPI certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with developmental disabilities is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to people with developmental disabilities in homes and the community.
• Assist with daily supports (meal prep, personal hygiene, medication administration, appointments, housekeeping, money management).
• Facilitate opportunities for skill development, independence, community involvement, and leisure activities.

What we are hiring for:

We are currently hiring multiple part-time Direct Support Professionals for our locations across Lambton County. Direct Support Professionals make a difference in people's lives by:

• Providing support to people with developmental disabilities in their homes and the community
• Teaching and assisting with daily supports (ex. assistance with meal preparation, personal hygiene, medication administration, appointments, housekeeping responsibilities and money management)
• Facilitating opportunities for individual skill development, independence, personal growth, cultivating relationships in their community and leisure activities as directed by the person

We provide supports in: Alvinston, Brigden, Corunna, Forest, Petrolia, Sarnia, Oil City, Oil Springs, Watford and Wyoming.

We are also accepting applications for one-to-one support through Passport.

What you will need:

• Valid "G or G2" class license and reliable vehicle
• Be willing to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Current certification in First Aid/CPR required
• Current certification in NVCPI or willing to obtain
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is an asset

Compensation and scheduling:

• $23.59 - $24.28 per hour based on experience
• Scheduled a mixture of days, afternoons, and weekends
• Opportunities to pick up additional hours
