Job summary

Lift Community Services in Powell River, BC, is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support operation of housing and office facilities. You will coordinate maintenance schedules, assist staff with repairs, and collaborate with contractors to keep spaces safe, functional, and welcoming.

This regular, part-time role runs Monday to Friday, 12pm–5pm at Lift Head Office. The position requires high school completion and at least one year in non-profit housing or related services, plus experience with

Qualifications

High School completion required.
1 year of experience in non-profit housing or related social services.
Experience in trades and building maintenance.
Knowledge of building codes and compliance requirements.
Skills in carpentry, plumbing, mechanics, electrical, janitorial, and tool use.
Experience supporting individuals impacted by homelessness, substance use, and mental health challenges.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, harm reduction, and Housing First.
Proficiency with Google Suite and MS 365.
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
Clear Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

Coordinate maintenance schedules for housing and offices.
Assist staff with maintenance needs and liaise with contractors.
Ensure repairs, inspections, and upkeep meet organizational standards and BC Housing requirements.
Maintain safety and compliance in all spaces.
