Job summary

Cypress Restaurant in Port Alberni, BC is seeking dependable part-time line cooks to join our energetic kitchen team. You’ll prepare and plate items according to recipes, support other stations, and help maintain a clean, organized workstation.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe certification is required or preferred.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail are important.
• Ability to stay organized during busy service periods.
• Comfort with teamwork and supporting multiple stations.
• Availability for part-time day or evening/night shifts.
• Ability to lift at least 30 lbs and handle cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, presentation guidelines, and quality standards.
• Keep service running smoothly by preparing accurate, consistently presented dishes in a timely manner.
• Help bring daily menu items and specials to life.
• Support other kitchen stations with food preparation as needed.
• Plate dishes with care, ensuring each order looks appetizing and meets our standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation.
• Monitor ingredients and supplies and communicate restocking needs.
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
• Work closely with kitchen and service staff to create an excellent experience for every guest.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chef or Management team.
